About

Hello and thanks for visiting Sky Blue Pink, a place to share my photography, book reviews, things that inspire me and more.

I’m Alyson, a New York based marketing and social media manager for a Long Island nonprofit. My background is in graphic design, it is what I studied in college and I spent many years working as an editorial designer for a chain of local newspapers. I love photography, it is a hobby I have always enjoyed and when I finally bought my Nikon DSLR camera, photography became a passion of mine, especially nature photography.

Where does the name Sky Blue Pink come from? I owe the name to my late grandmother. When I was a child and would ask her what her favorite color was, she would always say sky blue pink. Her answer stuck with me throughout the years and when thinking of a name for my blog, I thought it was the perfect name to use.

So who am I? I’m a beach girl at heart, I was raised within steps from the beach on Long Island, though my favorite times at the beach are early morning when its empty and quiet. I love to read, as soon as I finish one book, I’m picking up the next one. (You can find me on Goodreads here) Organizing makes me happy, bad kerning makes me mad. I find inspiration in the most random things. I’m easily distracted by glitter and anything colorful will stop me in my tracks. My favorite season is autumn. I have a serious case of wanderlust. My ideal day would be spent exploring with my camera.

Unless otherwise stated the photographs on this site are ones I have taken. If you are interested in using my photography please email me.

  2. I love your Grandmother’s Quote… it makes a perfect name for your Blog.

I can’t help but wonder, what other beautiful inspirations your Grandmother may have left you with, that may be living in your work. 🙂
