Twenty four days of working from home and staying home has me in need of a spring pick me up! Living in New York, not in the city, but on Long Island where cases are just as bad, its scary to leave your house even for essentials. Last week I ended up breaking down and temporarily moved back in with my parents when I thought my apartment building might not be the safest place since how do you social distance in my tiny cramped elevator?
Its been a stressful time, I always thought working from home would be great, but its been a huge challenge and at times has made my job harder. And the few times when I do venture out, you are always met with people who cannot take social distancing seriously. I’ve had people be on top of me in the supermarket since they do not have patience to wait a second to grab their items or let someone pass, and when I move out of the way to let someone pass, they look at you like something is wrong.
This is my favorite time of the year, when the magnolias and cherry blossom trees are starting to bloom, the daffodils are growing and the tulips are getting ready to make their debut. But because of people not taking social distancing seriously, it has made me leery to go out. So while I work up the courage to go explore at my basically deserted favorite gardens, I was looking through some magnolia photos from two years ago that brought a smile to my face and wanted to share. Stay safe!
