The grounds of the Nassau County Museum of Art is one of my favorite places to take a lunch time break since it is convenient to where I work. Between the gardens and the sculptures on the ground, there is always something to see. A few weeks ago they installed a new sculpture exhibit by Marko Remec and I finally made my way over to the museum to see it. Pictured above and below is Field Totem and pictures don’t do it justice, it is such a beautiful installation! The museum’s website describes the sculpture as a diamond tennis bracelet rising and falling with the contours of the hill and it truly does look like that when you see it in person.
Two other sculptures by Remec grace the grounds of the museum which I need to go back and see since I spent so much time gazing in awe at Field Totem, I had to return to work! If you are on Long Island, I highly recommend paying a visit to see Remec’s sculptures as well as the 30 plus sculptures that grace the grounds of the museum.
