I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh
It took me a long time to get into this book, it wasn’t really until the second part where I felt like I was fully invested in finding out what happened to the main character Jenna. Once the story picked up, I did enjoy the second half of the book and the twists that came I wasn’t really expecting.

The Assistants by Camille Perri
This was a fun and quick read. But the reality of the what the characters do is very far fetched, so if you can’t put logic aside than I recommend it. It is the writer’s debut novel so I can’t fault it that much.

Modern Lovers by Emma Straub
I wanted to like this, I really did since I loved The Vacationers but this book in my opinion did not live up to all the hype it was getting pre-release. The characters annoyed me, I was rooting for them to all wake up and realize that their lives could be better than what they were settling for.

In Twenty Years by Allison Winn Scotch
I absolutely loved this book. I bought it on a whim before it was released because they plot sounded interesting and the price was worth it and I’m glad I bought it. I didn’t want the story to end and gladly would read another book about these characters and their lives twenty years after this book took place. The characters were fleshed out so well that I felt like I was feeling all the emotions they were feeling and was rooting for each of them to find the happiness they were seeking. This was the perfect summer read.

The Good Goodbye by Clara Buckley
Great book with some really great twists. It is hard to explain the book without giving too much away, but definitely one of the better thrillers I have read this year. It makes you question things like how well do we really know our own family.

The Dinner Party by Brenda Janowitz
Full disclosure, I read this book since we are doing an event with the author where I work, but this was another great summer read. Relatable family drama, funny at times and how can I not love a book where it makes you feel like it is normal to have Passover seders where things get crazy!

  1. A good collection of books here, I love seeing what others are reading and recommending. I’ve added The Good Goodbye and The Dinner Party to my Amazon Wish List, they sound great reads 🙂
