Wanderlust: The Flower Fields

I’m hoping that 2016 will be a year of travel since it has been two years since I’ve been on an airplane and six years since I’ve left the United States. I have some destinations in mind that I would love to see next year and one of the places on my list is The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch in Carlsbad, California.

From March through May every year 50 acres of ranunculus flowers bloom at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch and are on display for visitors to see. Five acres of the land are also used to grow other flowers including roses, petunias and more varieties. Since the flowers are only in bloom for a few weeks, the beautiful field is only open for a little more than two months. The fields are now closed for the 2016 season.  I think a trip to California in April sounds like a great idea for April 2017.

  1. OMG! I just heard of the Flower Fields this year and I live only about an hour north. Sadly, I missed the season so I have to wait until next year to visit. I hope you manage to make it out here — I’d love to see all the beautiful pics you take!
