My love for crafting started when I was ten at summer camp and learned how to turn embroidery thread into friendship bracelets. Twenty years later I still have my string box loaded with an array of at least 70 different colors of thread and it still gets used. Over the years my jewelry making skills evolved to include beaded jewelry.
Recently I was in a department store looking at the jewelry section and was considering buying a beaded bracelet that I liked. While looking at some other jewelry I realized that I didn’t need to buy the bracelet because I basically had the same beads at home and could recreate it. I came pretty close to matching the original bracelet I saw and it inspired me to put my own spin on some other bracelet designs I’ve seen in stores.
Why buy when you can DIY?
